2014 NKY Leadercast Conference
I recently attended the 2014 Leadercast event here in NKY at the METS Center. Leadercast is a one-day leadership event broadcast live from Atlanta to hundreds of locations around the world.
This all day event was attended by over 125,000 people in 21 Countries. The theme was to live a Beyond You Life. Leaders from all around the globe spoke from the heart sharing their experience and tips on living outside the box.
As an ambassador for Chick-fil-A, I was invited to attend the 2014 Leadercast Conference and let me tell you that I had a wonderful time. Of course since CFA was catering the event you can bet the food was awesome!
Candy Craze had a candy buffet after lunch that just ROCKED the afternoon for us!
Other sponsors that made this day possible were: Centennial, Inc – First Security Trust Bank – Divinity Group – Candy Craze – Strauss Troy – Impact RYL… a huge Thank you to all of the sponsors for participating in this amazing day of leadership training.
The speakers were inspiring. I have noted my favorite quote from each of them below as a quick tweet should you like to share any of them.
[Tweet “If your leadership isn’t all about you, it will live beyond you .@AndyStanley”]
[Tweet “To be an effective leader is not what you say but how you say it. Process is extraordinarily important. .@Gladwell”]
Archbishop Desmond Tutu
[Tweet “A person is a person through other persons. You are you because of others. .@DesmondTutuPF”]
[Tweet “We are instinctively hardwired to want to stand and fight for something bigger than ourselves. .@Randall_Wallace”]
[Tweet “The power of what we do is not just in the day-to-day. It’s in thinking big way beyond ourselves. .@BillRMcDermott “]
[Tweet “In life we have moments where we are faced with a choice that will change our lives. .@aninvisibletrd”]
Dr. Henry Cloud
[Tweet “Leadership is not taken, it is given. People give leadership to those that they trust. .@DrHenryCloud”]
[Tweet “Leadership is a practice. A practice of putting the well-being of others over ourselves. .@SimonSinek”]
[Tweet “In leadership, nothing prepares you more than experience. .@laurawbush”]
I have to say that Archbishop Desmond Tutu was my favorite speaker. His laughter is so precious. You can’t help but open your heart to his words of wisdom when he shares so openly. His daughter provided a sweet introduction stressing how important it is to show respect to everyone, including those that work in the back ground… Stressing we are not alone in this world. We need each other and we need to show that we care!
For me the takeaway was that we need to train those coming along to not only replace us, but to surpass us in knowledge and skill.
[Tweet “My purpose is to pave the way for those behind me so they can roll past where my life ends. .@SimplySherryl”]
