2016 Alphabet Soup Reading Challenge
I have taken on the 2016 Alphabet Soup reading challenge this year. The challenge is to read one book in 2016 whose title begins with each letter of the alphabet (special exceptions for Q, X and Z). Since I love to read, I am hoping this challenge should be pretty easy for me. I say that like I have time for reading..but you wouldn’t know it by the stacks and stacks of books that I have for “when I have time I would like to read”.
The 2016 Alphabet Soup Challenge is hosted by Escape with Dollycas Into a Good Book. You can find the sign up post here.
The Alphabet Soup Challenge means that by December 31, 2016 your bowls must be full of one book for each letter of the Alphabet.
Each Letter Counts As 1 Spoonful
Details:
This challenge will run from January 1st, 2016 until December 31st, 2016.
You can join anytime. You do not have to write a review on the book (but I probably will since..well..I am a blogger)! Books can come from any genre. You do not need to link up each spoonful.
To help keep track, create a GoodReads shelf where you can maintain a list of books both read and that you want to read. I keep track of mine on my 2016 Challenge Page (grab a free copy to use in excel HERE, in pdf HERE) (DOWNLOAD your copy and then you will be able to edit it)but I also will be updating this post throughout the year as I complete a book.
2016-ABC-reading-ChallengeCrossovers to other challenges are allowed and encouraged!
The challenge is to read one book that has a title starting with every letter of the alphabet not including the A’s and The’s from the book titles as shown below.
The First Main Word Needs To Be The Letter You Are Counting
Except For those pesky Q, X AND Z titles the word that starts with the challenge letter can be anywhere in the title.
So there are a couple of different ways you can set up your own A-Z Reading Challenge.
A – How I plan to do it: Make a list on your Challenge Page from A-Z. Throughout the year as you start a book, write that title on the correct line along with the author and date you began reading. Drop in the finish date just for your records. Keep and eye out for other titles that will fill in where needed.
OR
B – Make a list now of 26 books, picking one for each letter of the alphabet. For example: A – The Art of Murder by Elaine Viets B- Breach of Crust by Ellery Adams C –Copy Cap Murder by Jenn McKinlay D – Devonshire Scream by Laura Childs etc.
Books can be read in any order and all formats – print – e-book – audio – are acceptable for this challenge!
Bloggers can use the sign up form near the top and all Non-bloggers can join too! Just keep track any way you wish and enter a link below if available or sign up in the comment section. You can even set up a special shelf on Goodreads.com to help you keep track!
Follow Escape With Dollycas Into A Good Book as there may be special announcements made about the challenge.
You can also join on the Facebook Event at Escape With Dollycas Into A Good Book if that is easier for you.
Then when you complete the challenge copy and paste your completed list in a comment area below the post and FILL OUT THIS FORM.
