A.D. The Bible Continues: The Book of Acts
It’s been a long time since a book caught my attention to the point that I just couldn’t put it down! This book is all about the book of Acts in the Bible.
From the resurrection of Jesus, to his appearances to people, and his teachings during this time…He speaks about the Holy Spirit, what he wants the disciples to do and then ascends into the heaven. Shortly after this, the Holy Spirit descends and fills the disciples in a miraculous way. They are then dispatched to all parts of the world to spread the Gospel of Christ.
I’ve read Acts before but it had not hit me that the book of Acts is.. the life and actions of the disciples and followers of Christ. I also appreciated the extensive biographies and definitions included in the book.
I think I learned as much from the biographies as from the chapters. It was great to make the connections between the people and the story.
This book is an easy read. It is written to the young in the faith reader but will also provide a reinforcement of the basic teachings to the mature Christian as well. It would make a great group study book.
I would recommend this book to everyone and it interested in learning the beginning of the spread of the Gospel. The author was careful to not add in opinion too often so that the reader could learn from the Word and let the Holy Spirit do what it does best..teach us how to be more like Christ.
