Apple Wins Cloud Media Usage

Apple Wins Cloud Media Usage

Apple Beats Competition

I was recently shopping for a new cell phone and explained that I wanted to stay with the android system. The salesperson asked, Are you using the cloud? Huh? Guess not!

He went on to explain that by using the cloud I could sync my music, books or videos on all my devices at once. Hmmm, I like that idea! If I enter an appointment for the dentist while at their office, my cloud will make sure all my devices make note of that appointment. I no longer have to go home and enter it on the calendar. SWEET!

According Strategy Analytics the 2,285 internet users were surveyed in October 2012. 27% used Apple’s services. 17 % used Dropbox, although they have no associated content ecosystem. Amazon’s Cloud Drive came in at 15%.

Looking to the future, cloud services is expected to growth exponentially  Currently, however, barely 45% of the respondents indicated that used any cloud service to store their media.

Today’s chart from Statista ranks popular cloud media services by their reach among American internet users.

I have an iPhone and I use the Cloud for storage of my pictures and videos. It also saves and backs up all the information on my iPhone, including contacts, notes, pictures, etc. This really will come in handy if I lose or break my phone. You can also pick how much storage you need on the Cloud. It’s really awesome!

All of this confuses me to the nth degree! I still only have a cell phone with no bells and whistles. One of these days I will have to get with the program!

I have all Apple devices from my computer (iMac), 2 iPads, and my husband and I both have iPhones. We sync everything! haha I love being able to sync!
