I think technology can be a great tool but I don’t think it is essential for a good education. The most important thing that needs to be done with technology is to make sure students know how to use it and that can be done in one class. We actually don’t use a lot of technology for our home school. I primarily use it as a source for materials that get printed. They do most of their learning through more traditional materials.

Definitely things we need to think about and consider. It’s a very hard topic and shouldn’t be taken lightly. Do we really want bookless libraries? I know I don’t, but I want kids to have access to technology. We all have to realize that the digital age is here, and times are changing. But that doesn’t mean that are “old” ways should be tossed aside. I think there needs to be a mix of both. Plus, we also have to think about the kids that don’t have home access to wireless network or printers for the ipads they are given. They will still have to go somewhere else for their work.

Sherryl – these infographics you’ve been sharing are great! We homeschool but we’ve been contemplating how and when to use technology in our studies.

Thanks again for this thought-provoking information.

    Wishing you a lovely day.
    xoxo
