College Prep Genius DVD SET {Review}

College Prep Genius is a wonderful program to prepare your child for the SAT test.  It begins by telling you what the test is and how College Prep Genius can help you to achieve the score you desire.  Surprising to me was the information that the SAT isn’t a knowledge based test but rather a critical thinking test.  You don’t need to know a ton of facts; you need to know how to use reasoning skills to find the right answer. 

That is where College Prep Genius comes in.  They have devised a series of questions that will help you to learn the method to use to reason out the answers.  One unique feature of the program is that it strongly encourages your child to set a goal for the test and also for what they hope to get from their test score.  This gets the child thinking long term, but also places the success of the test in their hands.

There is no need to spend a fortune on SAT prep. College Prep Genius is a revolutionary program designed to help students master the strategies behind the test and learn how to get the correct answers. This program takes students step by step through each section of the SAT [Critical Reading, Math, Writing,] and gives them a plan for success for each question type.

I especially love the two methods of instruction, the text book and the DVD’s.  The information is presented in a way that engages the student and is never boring.  College Prep Genius is divided into the same sections as the test.  There are hints and tricks liberally sprinkled throughout the book that will make the SAT test easier for the student.

There are worksheets at the back of the book, they recommend using a sheet protector when you are working out problems so you can just erase and start again.  You will need to go to the College Board website to get a practice copy of the test.  The book has all the information you need to get started immediately, a proven system to increase test scores, and over 350 tips to make your student more confident in their ability to reason.

All in all I am really impressed with the College Prep Genius program and will be using it for all of my children as they begin to study for the SAT.
