Courage & Comfort Bible Learning Cards {Review}

As a Christian parent, I believe it is my responsibility to teach my children God’s Word. Scripture tells us that we are to instruct our children in all things.

Over the years we have used many methods to memorize the Word, from copy work to coloring or creating lapbooks. Recently we received the Bible Learning Cards on Courage & Comfort to review as a member of The CWA Review Crew.

The Courage & Comfort Bible Learning Cards, were designed for children 6-13 but we found that both our younger and older children enjoyed using them. These cards were created by Vicky Enright who wanted to find a way to share her faith with her experience as a picture book and greeting card artist.

The 20 cards feature topics like:
* Determination
* Courage and trust in God
* Patience
* How to handle teasing
* Relying on God
* Doubt
* Helping others
* Hospitality and accepting others
* Blessings
* God’s presence
* How to handle our worries
* Encouraging others
* Including God in your everyday activities
* God’s comfort in difficult times

Each card is double sided and heavily laminated. Being over sized, they are the perfect size for little hands. The set is kept together with a ring that snaps closed preventing little ones from separating the set.

We use the cards as conversation starters with the little ones. Showing them the front of the card and asking them to tell us about the picture. While we are talking about the picture, we introduce the topic and scripture verse. The little ones then copy the verse for handwriting practice and we repeat it several times during the day.

Our older children like to try to match up the common paraphrase with the scripture almost as a matching game.

One example would be:

Common paraphrase: God made us to takes life’s ups and downs one day at a time. Give God your worries and enjoy today.

The matching scripture would be: Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Matthew 6:34
