Easy French Toast

Easy French Toast

Easy French Toast with Tate & Lyle Syrups

I am in love with the new Tate and Lyle Flavored Syrups. They come in several flavors but my top two are Vanilla and Caramel. With these two flavored syrups you can create spectacular dishes!

This morning I wanted something different for breakfast other than my usual scrambled egg sandwich but I need the protein of a couple of eggs. Hmmm, aha.. French Toast it is!

Easy French Toast with Tate & Lyle Syrups

Here is the easiest French Toast recipe you will ever find…

Ingredients:
2 eggs
2 slices of bread (your choice on type)
2 Tablespoons Cream (Half n Half or milk)
1 Tablespoon Tate and Lyle Flavored Vanilla Syrup
1 Tablespoon Tate and Lyle Flavored Caramel Syrup
2 Tablespoons Butter (or non stick spray if you have to)

Directions:
Heat skillet over medium high heat with butter
Break eggs into a small dish or better yet – a disposable bowl
Add Cream and Syrups to the eggs and beat together with a fork
Pour beaten egg and syrup mixture into a shallow bowl or again better yet a paper plate
Place bread slice into egg mixture and GENTLY turn it over to allow it to absorb the egg mixture
Gently remove from egg mixture and place in hot skillet
Repeat with other slice
Lift the edge of the bread slice to check for browning and flip each slice when golden brown
Remove from heat and drizzle with additional syrup or powdered sugar

I like to add the syrups to the egg mixture because I can then pick up and each the French toast with my hands or while on the way to a meeting. With the flavors all inside the toast, there is no syrup mess.

You can double, triple or more this recipe and freeze the cooked toast. When ready to eat, either heat in the toaster or place several slices on a baking dish and heat at 350 until warm, turning once to make sure they are heated all the way through each slice.

We have always made or French Toast like the above recipe. We mixed milk, egg, vanilla & cinnamon together – coated both sides of bread (white or Greek bread) & browned them. We hardly used syrup – it tastes great just like this. Sometimes the kids wanted fresh fruit or whipped cream on top (if we had it handy).

This sounds good. I like french toast. I never thought to add caramel syrup. Caramel is one of my favorite flavors. I would sprinkle some diced nuts over top too.
