Easy Pita Chips

Easy Pita Chips

Easy Pita Chips

If you love pita chips, you will find this simple recipe just too easy! You can make them with only 3 ingredients that you  probably already have in your pantry or refrigerator.

Easy Pita Chips

Ingredients:
8-10 large flour tortillas
4 cups oil (Grape, Vegetable, your choice)
1 Tablespoon salt

Instructions:

Bring heat up to a temperature of around 325-340 in a large pot (you need the extra room of the larger pot)

Easy Pita Chips

Cut tortillas into 4-6 pieces, depending on the size of chip you prefer

Easy Pita Chips

Using tongs, gently drop 4 tortillas into the hot oil and cook until they turn golden brown, turning a couple of times

Easy Pita Chips

Remove from oil and drain on paper towels for a few minutes BEFORE eating them

Easy Pita Chips

Sprinkle on salt or cinnamon with sugar while still hot and damp with oil

My crew likes them really crispy – almost to the burned stage but you can cook them to your preference. Watch them as they go from dough to done in a heartbeat!

I’ll bet these are excellent served warm and freshly made. I can see this becoming a regular snack around here. I love cinnamon sugar.

What a unique idea and reminder of ways that I can use left over tortilla shells and make them into deserts with cinnamon sugar on them, sound wonderful thank you for helping me not be as wasteful, and for sharing this simple but good recipe.
