Branson’s Best Steak and Catfish is at the Fall Creek Steak & Catfish House
From the moment you pull up at the Fall Creek Steak and Catfish house you know you are going to have a good time. The atmosphere and decor are so nice that we spent at least half an hour wandering around before settling in for lunch. Oh, and let’s talk about the food…
Fall Creek Steak & Catfish House
For over 20 years, the Fall Creek Steak & Catfish House has been a popular dining destination sitting right next to Fall Creek in Branson, Missouri. The Fall Creek Steak & Catfish House is a family friendly, roll tossing, good time! Come on into the Fall Creek Steak & Catfish House and you just might see Rudy, the resident guitar playing, singing roll tosser serenading someone as they enjoy a delicious meal of steak or catfish, or one of our many other entree options. Along with other country favorites the menu here boasts something for everyone. If you are looking for a unique place to dine, Fall Creek offers a antique lover’s paradise. The owners have collected these artifacts, from all over the Ozarks and beyond. As you leave, take a few minutes to check out the country gift shop, you might just find your own treasure to take home. Full of fun and interesting items, it’s a great addition to this amazingly fun restaurant.
The decor brings back so many memories. I love the old signs, banners, and decorations that line the walls and ceiling.
And let’s not forget about the food:
Make sure you start your lunch off with one of their special appetizers. We enjoyed the Awesome Blossom which is a sweet jumbo onion specially cut, breaded then fried golden and served with a secret sauce.
As you can see, this was a popular dish at our table!
Our table opted to order one of each of the lunch offerings since there were four of us and four lunch specials. Made sense so we could each try all the items.
BBQ Beef Sandwich
Slow cooked brisket smothered in the signature Fall Creek BBQ sauce. Served with fries.
This was the favorite at the table. The brisket was so tender and the red onion was the perfect finishing touch to a delicious sandwich.
Country Fried Steak
Lightly batters steak smothered in white gravy. Served with green beans and mashed potatoes.
What a southern favorite. Who doesn’t like a battered and fried steak? Oh, and the mashed potatoes with white pepper gravy was AMAZING!
Grilled Chicken Sandwich
A chicken breast grilled with a toasted bun. Served with fries.
While the chicken was tender and juicy, this sandwich seemed lacking. Now, I will accept responsibility for not requesting more condiments and sauce on it. So if you order it, make sure you state you want mayo, BBQ, etc. But if you are doing the low carb lifestyle, this chicken breast is delicious.
Southern Fried Fish
Hand breaded and fried. Served with hush puppies, coleslaw, and fries.
This was another southern favorite that brought back childhood memories. Tender fish filet were battered and fried until they were dark and crunchy. The side of tartar sauce just wasn’t enough (it was that good). Make sure to ask for extra tartar sauce because you will need it.
The Fall Creek Steak & Catfish House has a huge menu that features steak and fish of course, but their BBQ, burgers, ribs, and chicken are all local favorites. I was impressed with their soup and salad menu. They do of course offer a full line of adult beverages and several local beverages should you wish to indulge.
Did I mention the entertainment?
This is the first thing you will notice when you are seated. The staff are walking around singing (and they love to take requests) while they, get this… Throw hot rolls at you! Okay this was something new to me, but wow! Everyone had a blast listening to the songs being belted out by local talented staff. And yes, the rolls were delicious. When I read the sign that said “All the Rolls You Can Catch and Eat”, I wasn’t sure what to expect. It is however, one of the highlights of your visit.
Along with the rolls being thrown at you and the singing of just about any song you can throw at the staff, the management loves to stop and talk with you about the restaurant and the history.
The Fall Creek Steak & Catfish House is a little off the beaten path, but still only minutes from town. And it is “just up the road” – don’t you love my southern talk – from several attractions that you do not want to miss. Make sure to plan to stop while discovering the Branson area. This is one of those places that you will not want to miss, and will make sure to visit every time you are in the area.

Looks delish. However I come from the home of the original throwed rolls Lamberts Cafe in Sikeston, MO. I think they might be trying to copy them. Still it looks like awesome food!! I’m from Missouri and go to Branson quite often so I will have to try it.
