Green Muscle Mender
Since I started learning to appreciate, yes..it is a learned appreciation for my morning green beverage; I have been trying different recipes hoping to find one that I don’t have to try so hard to appreciate.
The Green Muscle Mender contains something that I haven’t used in a juiced or blended beverage before but do take daily in my pile of supplements. Turmeric adds a unique (and yes one that requires a learned appreciation for) flavor to most foods. I do like it in stews and casseroles so perhaps I should give it a go in my morning beverage for a week and see how I like it, and if it makes any difference in my overall energy levels.
According to “The Juice Lady“, Cherie Calbom; spinach helps your muscles recover faster when incorporated into a juiced beverage. Yay for spinach! Another reason to learn to appreciate it.
Cherie Calbom holds a Master of Science degree in whole foods nutrition from Bastyr University. Green Muscle Mender
Ingredients:
1 large handful spinach
1 green apple
1 cucumber
1-inch chunk ginger root
2-inch piece fresh turmeric root (optional)
Directions:
Juice all ingredients, stir, and enjoy! (Serves 1)
Let me know how you like this combination. The apple adds a nice amount of sweetness and I love anything with cucumbers in it. I made this with and without the turmeric. Still out on which way is the best.
