Which tablet do you own? I have #2 and #3 and #5…so I would fall within the 32 percent of tablet owners claimed to own more than one device, indicating that different tablets might be used for different purposes.
I use mine for different things but would not have purchased them just for that reason. I started with the Nook just for reading and still use it for the books the girls can use for school. My Kindle Fire is used more by the grandchildren for games but watching movies is really nice on it. My Samsung is my latest and greatest and it does everything! I prefer it to my laptop but can’t see myself giving up my desk top any time soon.
What about you? Are you part of the almost half (44 percent) of the U.S. online population that own a tablet?
Despite growing competition from Android tablets and from its smaller brother, the full-sized iPad remains the most popular tablet in American households. 53 percent of American tablet owners own Apple’s flagship tablet.
The second most popular tablet in the U.S. is Amazon’s Kindle Fire, which is used by 31 percent of the 1,068 tablet owners in the survey. Apple’s iPad mini ranked fourth behind Samsung’s Galaxy tablets but in front of Google’s highly acclaimed line of affordable Nexus tablets. Microsoft’s Surface tablets have yet to make an impression on U.S. consumers, as only 5 percent of tablet owners call one of Microsoft’s Windows 8 tablets their own.

I have a Galaxy Tab (10.1) but I hardly use it. My son uses it for learning apps and Netflix. I can’t understand why the Fire is preferred over the Galaxy, I’ve used a friend’s and thought it was inferior. The last Apple device I used was an AppleII back in grade school – I would love to win an iPad Mini or iPod Touch but I refuse to buy one because of Apple’s business practices. That and because I’m dirt poor. lol

Sadly I do not currently have a tablet and have to make due with my desktop/laptop/cellphone (non-smartphone) combo. I have a Kindle 3 which at least has wifi and basic internet functions. I am looking to upgrade to Kindle fire by the beginning of next year 🙂

Yes, I am one of those 44% that have a tablet. I use mine almost every where I go. I like the apps that I can download and use right then and now. I try to use my tablet to help me make money where I go. It is one of the best things I have besides my darling wife which I am very honored to have in my life!!!
