Kindness Counts Challenge – Day 1
Day 1 of the September Kindness Counts Challenge was well a challenge! LOL… we had “murphy” visiting us and of course anything that could go wrong..did!
Starting off with no internet..GASP..I KNOW!!
Followed by..well let me paint you a story..
Picture hubster standing on a ladder with paint can in one hand and brush in another applying the first coat of paint to our kitchen cabinets. We are remodeling our kitchen with a sponsored post by Giani. This is an awesome product that you can use to remodel your kitchen without breaking the bank. Love their stuff! Can’t wait to get the project completed – but I digress
Hubster is on the step ladder and the counter tops/stove etc are covered in a plastic sheeting. Our juliana pig, Madeline comes running through the kitchen and grabs the end of the plastic sheeting and TAKES OFF! As you can imagine the disaster that resulted as hubster was snatched off the ladder and paint can gets dumped against him and runs all down the front of his clothing…did I mention the splattered paint everywhere? We managed to keep the majority of the mess contained to a small area and was able to get the spilled paint cleaned up with a good amount of elbow grease. Madeline spent the rest of the day in her bed… knowing she was in trouble!
But we were still able to find ways to show kindness or make someone else smile:
- Helped a fellow blogger with a layout problem they were struggling with on their site
- Bought coffee for the person in line behind me at Starbucks
Not either were grand actions, just something that could be done to make the moment a little better for someone else…
How about you? Did you complete your Day 1 Kindness Counts Challenge?
Link up below if you are a blogger and are taking part in the Kindness Counts Challenge… If you are not a blogger, you can leave your act of kindness in the comment section below and then make sure you submit it to the group here. We are creating a list of all the acts of kindness to share later in the series.
If you missed the kick off article on the Kindness Counts Challenge you can catch up here.
Until tomorrow!

I absolutely LOVE this – I try to do my best to show kindness all the time, but making it a challenge to do it on a daily basis is a great idea. You never know how your kindness will impact someone!

Kindness challenges always seem to stretch me in a way. I always find that the most simplistic acts of kindness always give the greatest return. When you’re really not thinking about the challenge, but you’re just kind in general. Why didn’t I know that your pig was a house pig?

I love these kind of challenges! Keep up the good work, you never know when your simple act of kindness is a day or life changer for the person who is on the other end.
I can’t wait to see how the kitchen turns out!
