Make It Memorable with D’Artagnan
If your family is anything like mine, the house is full of people, everyone is talking, and everyone is hungry. Especially true during the holidays, when we get together for parties and meals even more than usual! And yes, we have certain dishes that we always have but sometimes I want something different. We make memories at the table, so this year, I’m going to make it memorable with D’Artagnan Foods.
Thirty years on and counting, D’Artagnan continues to anticipate the demands of the palates of American chefs and consumers, offering imported Spanish mangalica hams, milk-fed porcelet piglets, New Zealand venison, wild mushrooms and hunted Scottish game birds. In recent years, the Rohan duckling, a hybrid heritage breed raised exclusively for D’Artagnan was introduced. And the Green Circle Chicken, a unique vegetable-fed bird that eats excess vegetables rescued from restaurant kitchens and markets, was made available to chefs and retail customers alike.
Today, D’Artagnan stands as a pioneer in a movement that is chock full of buzzwords. Farm-to-table, artisanal, free-range, grass-fed; all of these are in the DNA of the company, because to Ariane that is just the way things should be done. She built D’Artagnan on the idea that the care taken on the farm can be tasted on the plate. In other words (her own), “A happy chicken is a tasty chicken.”
D’Artagnan has quickly become a favorite place of mine to order food and specialty products from!
By the way, if the name D’Artagnan sounds familiar, it’s because it’s also the name of the 4th Musketeer from The Three Musketeers. Most of us have read the story or seen one of the movies (Chris O’Donnell portrayed him in the 1993 film).
Anyway, D’Artagnan offers some delicious treats, starting with meats such as duck, wild boar, veal, rabbit and buffalo to other tasty treats like wild mushrooms, pate, caviar and preserves! I know some folks will turn their noses up at a few of these delicacies but my most of my family loves to try different foods from around the world.
I like that D’Artagnan offers their products fresh, without using antibiotics or preservatives. They arrive in a cooler at your doorstep. We used our pretty quick so I didn’t have to worry about letting it sit for long, but several of their products have to be used or frozen within a few days (check the packaging) since they don’t have a bunch of chemicals to keep them fresh.
Personally, I like knowing that the company knows where all of their ingredients come from, and they use long standing family recipes. The quality and care they take in their products shows from the time you open the package to when you’re enjoying it with your family. They also offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee because they want you to continue to be their customer!
We were able to try a number of their products and while some of them we ate “as is”, there were a few that we also used in several recipes, like a French Garlic Sausage over Pasta!
Also, if you’re looking for a unique gift or just want to try a different selection of items, be sure to check out their gift baskets and themed collections, such as a butter & oil basket, a bacon sampler, or even a grill collection! And if you don’t know what your loved one would like the most, send them a gift certificate instead!
So go ahead and make it memorable with D’Artagnan, whether for the holiday or just because! Be sure to follow them on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube (they have great how-to videos) and Instagram for the latest news.
