Meet A Friend Friday
I am so pleased to be able to introduce you to another great fellow blogger from What You Tink Daddy! Please welcome Brian from What You Tink Daddy to Simply Sherryl! He’s answered my questions, but if you are curious about more, leave your questions below and I’m sure he will come by and answer them too!
1. Tell us a little bit about your blog:
My blog is about myself, my family, and the things that we like to do! That might be camping, my favorite Android app, or my rant on something personal to me. It just depends on what I have on my mind at the time.
2. How long have you been blogging and what do you love about it?
I have been (Trying) to blog for a little over a year now. I really like being able to interact with others who are interested in similar things as myself. I also like being able to share our family experiences such as camping, hiking, geocaching. I also like to review products that interest me and that I use as a part of daily life.
3. Who is the person or group behind the blog?
With the exception of some guest posts, I am the sole contributor to my blog. I come up with all of the blog topics and write them myself. Although I must confess I can be easily swayed by my kids or my wife. They often give me ideas about what to write, or if they say something funny this may spark a new topic.
4. What hobbies/interests do you have?
As a family we like to geocache, we have been into this for a little over 3 years. It has taken us places that we never would have visited otherwise. We are always in the prowl for a new geocaching adventure. Personally I like to tinker with just about anything. My background and day job is science related so that is always a backer for some of my hobbies. I have (in the past, not much time lately) done lapidary (look it up) work. I really enjoy it if I have the time and money.
5. What is your favorite topic to write about?
Easy one, my family. I always enjoy the things that we do as a family and how they are a part of my kids life. We try to be diverse in the things that we do. Also, we like to travel and camp as much as possible. This always makes for an interesting blog post.
6. What advice would you give to new bloggers?
Blog about what you like, and don’t be afraid to start over. I have a couple other blogs in the past, but they didn’t work out, and seemed too much like work to me. I changed the format of my blog and am I little more open ended now. This gives me the flexibility to blog about a wider range of topics and I think it make it more enjoyable and less stressful to come up with a topic.
7. Do you use a blogging planner and if so, which one? Why?
What’s a blogging planner? LOL
8. Three of my favorite blogs to visit are:
A Little Campy
Writing Pad Dad
Dad Does
9. Three of my favorite posts on my blog are:
5 Things a Kid Asks While in the Porta Potty
10. Are you planning on attending any of the Blogging Conferences this year? If so, which ones?
None this year.
