Mel’s Hard Luck Diner in Branson, MO #ExploreBranson
Our welcome reception and tour kickoff was at Mel’s Hard Luck Diner. Here we were treated to a personal introduction to Mel himself!
Mel’s Hard Luck Diner is set in the 50’s era and not only has awesome food with portions that will make you moan with joy but not be able to stop eating to singing servers! It wasn’t long before the hubster was part of the show!
I love their motto:
We invite you to come and experience a restaurant that is
different from all the others and
Let Us Sing for your Supper!
The atmosphere is upbeat and lively. The servers walk around singing as if they have nothing else to do (all the while waiting on tables, serving food and beverages or cleaning off a table)! Just this takes tremendous talent but to be able to do all of this and sing just goes to show how talented the staff are at Mel’s.
Our server was Sonya Godfrey who started her singing and acting career when she was only five years old. Her cd is available online and through the gift store at Mel’s.
Oh, and the food that is available is impressive. We both went with suggestions from Mel’s favorite list and it was awesome! I have to admit, this was the first time I ever thought about putting bananas on my salad!
We both enjoyed the Sweet Sensations Salad, Mel’s Favorite Salad! It was a grilled chicken breast, almonds slivers, strawberries with mandarin oranges on a bed of fresh blended lettuce with a raspberry vinaigrette dressing…and to make it Mel’s favorite, he adds pecans, cashews, and a banana!
On our second trip to Mel’s we opted for a little lighter fare and then dove into the dessert offerings!
Mel’s Hard Luck Diner is located in the Grand Village Shopping Center. It is nestled among some of the best shopping in Branson. Make sure you stop in at the T. Charlestons Book Store and Kringles Christmas Shop when you are in the area.
If your vacation plans take you to Branson, MO..Mel’s Hard Luck Diner must be on the can’t miss list!
I would like to thank the Branson Convention and Visitors Bureau, US Family Guide, and all the participating merchants for this trip. It was an amazing trip!
