Microwave Bacon Rack
Stop Laughing! This reminds me of a clothes line that I hung clothes on when I was a child.
I received this Mak N Bacon Rack as a gift from someone because they know I love bacon. Now, that said, I HATE the smell of bacon cooking, I really dislike the greasy mess from cooking bacon and I only like bacon if it is extremely crispy. I know… picky, picky, picky…
Once you assemble the bacon rack, place your slices over the “clothesline” so they hang without touching. (Notice the picture has 5 slices on each rack… not happening)
Place in the microwave and cook until done to your personal preference. I stopped the cooking process several times to take photos but overall the time was 6:30 for the entire pound of bacon. It probably would have taken only five minutes to completely cook if not interrupted.
Pros: Bacon was crispy! Bonus that it was folded the perfect size to fit my sandwich!
Cons: Dish doesn’t fit well in the dishwasher. Base fits on top shelf; however the T stands do not fit in the silverware holder and are too small to place on top tray without weighting down.
Bonus: The microwave remained clean!
I probably wouldn’t use the bacon rack often because I normally cook several pounds at a time in the oven.

Ohh now that looks like a good idea – I have to admit I love a good piece of bacon but I’m a hazard when it comes to oven cooking it and the mess it makes in the microwave normally! lol x

I like this and I love that it gets the bacon crispy. I don’t have to worry about fitting in the dish washer because I don’t have one.

I’m not a bacon eater but my son loves it. He eats almost a whole pound at breakfast. I would love to try this as I hat the messy clean up

Looks great, but my hubby and I are on strict low-fat diets, just one bacon strip would use up 5 of the daily 24 food points I’m allowed on the Weight Watchers Points plan.

Aha! This is exactly what I need! Quick and much cleaner!

My Auntie had one that you laid the bacon flat on growing up. She always made bacon in the microwave which cracks me up. While I can and do make it in a skillet, it cooks perfectly on a pan in the oven and you don’t have to babysit it!

bacon yum! we have this and it’s great because the oil drips on the dish. But like you we also love to cook bacon in the oven.

I have actually seen a bacon rack before! I think it is pretty neat, but I didn’t buy it when I saw it since I don’t cook bacon very often.

Mmm, bacon! I haven’t had it for years. Probably why I’ve kept the five pounds off. Now I’m dreaming of it.

I used to have a tray to do bacon in the microwave but it disappeared. I love this, the grease will drip off. Maybe they will redesign it for the dishwasher. I still want to check it out though.

seems like a cool little gadget, but probably not worth it’s cost. If I’m gonna microwave a few strips of bacon, I put them on papertowels, if I’m going to do large quantities, I do it in the oven, like you said.

Me too! I love cooking bacon in the oven. I can usually get close to three pounds in the oven at once.. then just bag it to nibble on all week.
