Morning Routines Save Time
Although I consider myself a morning person, I too find it tough some mornings to not reach over and hit that snooze button once..well twice or even three times! I don’t usually fall to sleep between the alarms, I lay there and use the time to get my mind around my upcoming day.
Once my feet hit the floor, I am usually in full motion until the end of the day. My morning routine has to be quick and easy. Most days, I can go from bed to out the door in 18 minutes.
As soon as I climb out of bed, I grab the covers and pull them back in place and toss the throw pillows back on the bed. Then turn on the shower while brushing my teeth.
Jump in the shower, dry off and get dressed (I do decide the night before what I will be wearing so this doesn’t require brain power in the morning).
Thankfully my hair gets combed and scrunched or pulled back into a pony tail so it doesn’t take much time at all.
My facial routine consists of a lightly tinted moisturizer, mascara, and lip balm. I apply lip balm instead of lipstick in the morning and unless I am leaving the house, I don’t usually wear anything else on my lips. I tend to have dry lips and using the lip balm in the mornings seems to help keep them in great shape. My favorite lip balm is by Belli. What I like the most about it is that it doesn’t feel like balm on my lips. You know what I mean, that waxy, sticky feeling that some lip balms are like…ugh. Not the Sheer Comfort Soothe Lip Balm by Belli. You really should give it a try. Belli also offers a full line of skin care products from facial wash to sunscreen.
Of course there are days when I need more time to do a full face application of makeup but most of the time I am just running errands or working at home and I opt for a lighter look. And since I am dressed for the day (even though I work from home, I still dress for business everyday), I can freshen up and apply a little eye shadow, powder, and lip stick before heading out the door if something comes up.
Getting dressed including shoes each morning is one of the best routines I can recommend. If something comes up for work or if a friend has an emergency, I can be out the door in less than five minutes. Just being prepared by being dressed helps me stay on track and get more accomplished.
Do you have a morning routine or habits that you have established to make your mornings easier?
