Noah’s Ark – One Man’s Faith
The story of Noah’s Ark has always been one of my favorite Bible stories. The whole concept of the Ark, the flood and starting over shows me the love of God for mankind. I think most folks know the story of Noah, no matter their personal religion. It’s a tale that’s found in most cultures around the world!
Basically, a hundred years before the Great Flood, a man named Noah came home talking crazy. God had informed him that He wanted Noah to construct a boat, not just any boat, but the biggest boat the world had ever seen. The future of humanity depended on him.
Noah, a farmer and family man, is instructed by an angel to build an ark in the middle of a desert in order to save his family and the faithful from a devastating flood. Noah’s seemingly impossible quest tests his faith in God and everything he believes in. The obsession also leads to the fragmentation of his family, as their faith in their father is questioned.
This film, produced by Cinedigm has a solid cast of characters including David Threlfall, Joanne Whalley, Nico Mirallegro, and Ashley Walters.
I did enjoy the movie although it did seem to bog down too much before getting on to the point of what I thought the movie was all about. History remembers the flood, Christians remember the Ark..this movie made me think more about the person named Noah and his family. This was no easy undertaking. He was alone in his belief and that would have been a tough place to be in, especially back in that time.
Personally I would have enjoyed seeing more about the time on the Ark and what happened afterwards but then that probably wasn’t the point in the film!
So many questions I want to ask about Noah, the Ark and the flood. I guess they will have to wait until Heaven.
