Overwhelmed {Review}
Who hasn’t felt overwhelmed before? Even as a Christian, and knowing that no problem I face is too big or too much for Jesus to handle, I have found myself with too much on my plate.
The book, Overwhelmed by Perry Noble, is written by a preacher who teaches his readers how to deal with this feeling, through his own personal story and struggles, while relating it to various parts of Scripture. He goes over several big issues that I’d say most people struggle with, such as greed, forgiveness, giving up control, etc. There is a fair amount of humor in his writing which helped lighten what could be a heavy topic. The book also had several points that were pulled from the text and set aside in order to stand out.
Forgiveness is like putting a key in a prison door to release someone else, only to discover that the person you are releasing is yourself.
I personally enjoyed these statements or summaries, as it was a phrase or point that I could focus on for that chapter of the book.
I enjoyed Overwhelmed overall, and I realize it may not be a book for everyone, depending on your religious background. I think it could be a good book to keep on hand for when times get stressful and too much to handle at once.

Here’s the summary from the back cover:
Stressed out? Anxious? Overwhelmed? Good news—you’re not alone!
No one ever said life was going to be easy. Between financial struggles, marital issues, health scares, and the regular, run-of-the-mill problems of everyday life, it’s easy to feel weighed down and trapped by your circumstances. In times like these, it’s tempting to just throw in the towel and quit. Well, don’t do it!
Perry Noble has stood at the edge of the abyss himself, and in Overwhelmed, he shares the keys to unlocking the chains of anxiety and despair once and for all. Building on the premise that when we shift our focus from our circumstances to Christ, everything changes, Perry walks readers through a life-altering plan for overcoming stress, worry, depression, and anxiety so we can be free to enjoy the abundant, joy-filled lives we were created for.
God knows we’re frustrated. He knows we’re tired. He knows we’re struggling. But He also knows how things are going to turn out. He is greater than anything you are going through . . . so don’t give up on God. After all, He’s never given up on you.
