Saturday in Kentucky

Saturday in Kentucky

How are you spending your last Saturday of the year? We are packing away the remaining holiday decorations, reclaiming the house from all the activities since Halloween, and preparing to settle in for what is looking like a long cold winter. Oh…yeah.. the girls are shoveling snow from the driveway! LOL!

Don't get me wrong, I love the snow and cold. That is until I have to get out in it! I know, I know..a little contradictory, but I could become a hermit during the winter if it were not for my children and their unending love of skiing!

As this year comes to a close, it seems like a good time to review and reevaluate things. I will be spending this weekend working on the calendar for 2013, making plans and schedules for homeschooling, vacation, blogging topics and just taking an overall look at this past year. What should be changed? What should be expanded?

A few questions come to mind…

1. Are we spending enough time in the Word for the Word to make a difference in our lives?

2. Are we reaching out enough to others that are in need, especially those within the church?

3. Are our remaining two girls at home learning the skills necessary to become women of integrity?

4. Are our schedules so full that we lose sight of what is most important….God, Family, Friends?

My wish for you is one of love and peace. I pray you know the love of God in your life, that you have surrendered your heart to Christ. I also pray for peace, both in our homes and in our country. Things are changing at such a fast pace. I am concerned yet still trusting in God to see us through.
