Smart Women Finish Rich {Review}

Smart Women Finish Rich {Review}

You don't find too many financial advice books written for women being written by a man. That is part of the reason I was intrigued when I received David Bach's book, Smart Women Finish Rich, to review for my readers. I've never read any of his other books, so this was definitely a new experience.

With hundreds of thousands copies in print around the world, Smart Women Finish Rich, by renowned financial advisor David Bach, has shown women of all ages and backgrounds how to take control of their financial future and finish rich. Whether you’re working with a few dollars a week or a significant inheritance, Bach’s nine-step program gives you tools for spending wisely, establishing security, and aligning money with your values. Plus, in this completely revised and updated edition, David Bach includes critical new long-term investment advice, information on teaching your kids about money, Internet resources, and new ways to attract greater wealth–personal and financial–into your life.

In this book, the author lists 9 steps for women to take, in order to organize and build their wealth. It's not just for women who are single, or who are planning on a divorce in the future; but it does consider most possibilities like those, such as being windowed, or divorced, etc. The 9 steps he discusses in the book are:

  • Learn the facts and the myths about your money
  • Put your money where your values are
  • Figure out where you stand financially, and where you want to go
  • How to create massive wealth on just a few dollars a week
  • Practice grandma's three basket approach to financial security
  • Learn the 10 biggest mistakes investors make and how to avoid them
  • Raising smart kids to finish rich
  • 12 commandments of attracting greater wealth
  • Be inspired

Each chapter is filled with personal stories that readers could probably relate to depending on their situation. Personally I enjoyed the facts and figures that were mixed in throughout the book. While this book wasn't an “easy” read for me, I think it has some good advice depending on the financial guidance you might be seeking. As always, you should research any strategy completely before applying it to your own situation, especially when it comes to finances and your future. Plus, if you're in a relationship, it's probably a good idea to work through this book and its worksheets with your partner.

You can purchase Smart Women Finish Rich on Amazon or learn more about the author through Facebook and Twitter.

    It is interesting that the author is a man. Women need to take hold of their wealth and know all about the family finances. I may just read this book.

    This is just the kind of book I need. It is funny how it was written by a man though. Thank you for sharing
