Book Description:
A fun and fascinating way to learn about the book of Revelation.
The Bible’s final book, Revelation, can seem intimidating or downright impossible to comprehend, even for serious students of the Scriptures.
Filled with complex imagery, vivid depictions of violence, and challenging spiritual references, Revelation is often set aside by readers in favor of more straightforward, easier-to-digest biblical material. Yet the capstone of the canon need not remain a mystery.
In this refreshingly accessible book, Bible scholar and best-selling author Tim LaHaye (originator of the Left Behind series) and renowned puzzle master Timothy E. Parker (editor of the USA Today Crossword, and founder of The Universal Crossword, King James Games, and Master Puzzles) demystify Revelation for your benefit. Absorb this book and discover afresh—or for the first time—the richness of Revelation and its God-breathed, life-changing power to deepen your walk of faith.
My Thoughts:
A little conflicted. I did enjoy reading the book of Revelation and how it was broken down into bite size reading. The pre reading quizzes did pull my thoughts to the reading at hand and help me to think about what I had learned or remembered about Revelation. The presentation of scripture and the post reading quiz answers were clearly from the reading and not just an opinion.
But that is where we part ways. And while I found the commentary straying at times from the just quoted scripture, it is after all the opinion of the author. I believe we are each responsible to search learn the scripture for ourselves. Any book that adds opinions to scriptural meaning should be taken as a commentary not as the end all explanation.
If as a believer, you are looking for a study on Revelation that is broken down by verse; this book would be a good supplement to your Bible. I would not use this to study with an unbeliever or new convert.
You can purchase this book on Amazon or at your local Christian Book Stores.
