9/2 UPDATE: Thanks for Jason Cosper at WP Engine we are back in business! Jason is my hero!

I want to explain and apologize to for the website issues at Simply Sherryl during the last 24 hours. Apparently the website was under spam/hacker attack and had over 3 million hits which caused server issues long with major problems with articles that were posted during this time.

Early this morning the decision was made to “roll back” the site to a “prior date”. What this means is that we had to restore a backup from before the attacks started. The backup used was from the 28th – so all articles from the 29 through 31 were not available to restore as they were created during the spam/hack attack and considered corrupted.

This was completed and we are back to being fully functional and we installed several programs to prevent this problem from happening in the future.

One of these programs is the use of captcha. I do not like having to use captcha but have selected a version that I hope is the less troublesome of the versions.
