Hello everyone!
I wanted to let you all know that pre-registration for the Fall Home School Day program at the National Museum of the USAF (near Dayton, Ohio) will open at 9 AM on Wednesday, September 5th. The event will be held on October 1, 2012. Full details are on our website online at the National Museum. Registration forms will be available at the stated date and time on that site.
In addition, I wanted to let you know that a new exhibit will be open by Home School Day: the Space Shuttle Crew Compartment Trainer (CCT-1)!! This is a full size replica of the Space Shuttle orbiter’s crew compartment section that was used for astronaut training in Houston. It arrived at the Museum yesterday (August 22) and will be placed in the Cold War Gallery hangar today. On September 30, the exhibit will be open to the public. We will eventually have a ramp that leads to the flight deck as well as other educational exhibits surrounding the CCT. Please see https://www.nationalmuseum.af.mil/cct.asp for more information.
