Chocolate Covered Gummy Bears

Chocolate Covered Gummy Bears

Chocolate Covered Gummy Bears

Yes, you read that title correctly. Apparently these are popular among the teens at our congregation and one of the most asked for snacks at teen gatherings.

You probably don't need the ingredients or the recipe but here it is:

Ingredients:
1 bag fruit flavored gummy bears
1 bag chocolate chips (white, dark or milk)
1 sheet of foil or parchment paper
1 toothpick or fork

Chocolate Covered Gummy Bears

Directions:
1. Melt chocolate in microwave safe bowl. Start at 60 seconds, stir, cook another 10 seconds, stir..repeat until smooth. DO NOT OVER COOK!
2. Using a toothpick or fork, pick up and dip the gummy bear into the chocolate
3. Allow to cool on foil or parchment paper

Personally, I don't get the flavor combination but it has been, well… a very long time since I was a teenager.

Gotta love the creative “sugar rush” ideas that teens find fascinating! I am definitely going to surprise our teens with this treat at one of our future youth events at church. 🙂

I think it is an acquired taste. I personally would prefer to eat gummy bears and chocolate separately.

I have to say that these are definitely yummy. Being in love with chocolate I have to say that just about ANYthing can be dipped, drizzled, and covered in choclate! Trust me – I’ve done just about anything you can think of except the kitchen sink. Putting something in chocolate seems like a simple little pleasure that makes it like the feeling you got when you were a kid opening up your Christmas presents!

When I was a teen girl I loved gummy bears and chocolate however never did have them together like this. So I do understand why kids would love these.
Something for me to try when mine get older.

I have been eating these since I was a teenager. So they have been out for well over 15+ years. We had them at a candy store when I lived in California.

Thank you for sharing this great recipe!

This sounds good but a bit sweet for me. I haven’t heard of this in my area yet. I will have to try this out at home and give it a try.
