Woolzies Dryer Balls Review

Woolzies Dryer Balls Review

Woolzies Dryer Balls

I rarely get excited about laundry or anything to do with getting it done. Anyone that knows me knows that laundry is not one of my favorite homemaking challenges. Probably because it never ends! We are down to only 2 or 3 loads a day…that just sounds funny but we were at one point running 4 to 5 loads depending on the day and whose job it was for the week. Our older children are responsible for their own laundry but one of them would be also responsible for the linens and specials (clothes that require special care such as ironing or not being dried).

Some of our children have taken to the task quite well and others well, just say they are never asked to help by the other siblings! The ones that are slow learners have worn stiff clothes from too much soap or clingy clothes from not using vinegar in the rinse! Live and learn…natural consequences are the best teachers!

However, I am all about saving money! On that note, let me tell you about a product that I recently tried and enjoyed using in my dryer.  Woolzies dryer balls are handmade wool dryer balls that soften your laundry naturally; without the use of any chemicals.

Woolzies dryer balls claim to do several  things:

  • Save time and energy by cutting down drying time
  • Help reduce static and wrinkles
  • PVC-free and won’t fall apart or melt
  • Hypo-allergenic and safe for those with sensitivities to wool

The set I received had 6 wool balls that look like softballs. The dryer balls are soft and pliable to the touch. According to the directions, these should last me just over a year!

Having used them for a couple of weeks, I can honestly say that I love these things! I feel they do reduce the drying time and our clothes are not wrinkled when they come out of the dryer. An added bonus, because they are all wool, they have no scent to them at all! I found it easy to add my favorite scent by sprinkling a few drops of essential oil onto the balls before tossing them in the dryer.

With two teen girls, my largest laundry baskets are the linens and towels. I switched to vinegar years ago and was a little concerned about how the Woolzies would handle them. Happily, I can say that my towels are fluffy and not all balled up, so they dry faster and are soft to the touch.

Head over to Woolzies and check out how awesome these dryer balls work. You can also find them on Facebook and Twitter.

Anything in the name of making laundry a more efficient task is worth trying. I have a family of 6 and do laundry nearly each day. I hate ironing, so I’d love to put these to the test and see how they work. Are they noisy at all bouncing around in your dryer?

Your laundry count is like mine! I used these on everything but delicate loads. Love that I don’t have to pull everything apart and that they dry faster. Well worth the money when you have to purchase only once a year.

We usually do 2-3 of clothes and towels, plus 1-2 of cloth diapers, for our family of 2 adults and 2 toddlers.
