About the Author:

This was a tough read for me. Not that the book isn't well written and one with a solid story line. It was tough because of the season in life that I am in now. My dad recently was killed in an accident and my three sisters and I have really struggled in our relationships since then. So much of the book opened wounds that I have been trying to let scar over. The flip side, I feel the book has forced me to deal with a couple of issues that I needed to in order to start to heal and move forward.

Life is messy. Families are messy. We tend to hurt those closest to us the most when we are in pain. Maybe that's why we have families. There is something, a bond, a need maybe..that allows us to forgive and reunite in ways that those outside the family unit could never do.

My personal life season issues aside, this is a good book and the author has done such a great job developing the characters.
