During all of our travels lately, we’ve started a fun tradition of finding candy or chocolate factories or stores to visit in towns that we are passing through. And the next time you head to Kansas City, Missouri, be sure you stop and visit Andre’s Chocolates for delicious treats!

 

André and Elsbeth Bollier immigrated from Basel, Switzerland to Kansas City in June of 1955. A Master Konditor-Confiseur, André’s goal was to open a typical Swiss Confiserie producing only the highest quality confections in the Swiss tradition. In October of that same year, the dream became reality and André’s was introduced to the unsuspecting Midwesterners of Kansas City.

Our merchandise, produced with pure butter, whipped cream, high quality chocolate, natural flavorings, is used with only the highest quality ingredients. This introduced our clients to an experience that, in the early years, could only be found in Europe.

André’s is recognized in “The Book of Bests” as ‘Best Domestic Boxed Chocolate’. The book states, “André’s chocolates are not for the timid. The flavors are strong and rich. Exceedingly fresh and tender, they are worthy of any Swiss Confiserie”.

The stable foundation that André built with his dedication to provide only the very best products and superior customer service remains carried on by the commitment of the Bollier family, as well as the store’s many long time employees.

I love that this is a family run business, and I believe they are on their 3rd generation! It’s not your typical industrial chocolate or candy company either; they are still using traditional and real ingredients such as cream, sugar, butter, etc.

Personally, I like going for the assorted boxes because I like a little bit of everything. Although with chocolates this good, usually a bite or two will be enough to satisfy that sweet tooth!
