Watershed Moments {Review}

Watershed-Moments

Recently, I was given the book Watershed Moments by Gari Meacham to read and consider for an upcoming ladies bible study. It's not often that a book makes me stop and think, but this one sure did. The premise behind the book is that life isn't about one long span of time; it's actually made up of tiny fragments of time which are strung together that make up our life.

And what happens when one “fragment” changes? To the point that we can never go back, never undo it? These are what she refers to as our Watershed Moments.

The author uses several biblical characters along with stories from her own life to teach readers how these moments should grab our attention, make us notice what God is telling us. These moments and revelations can be happy, sad, tragic, or mind-blowing! God knows what you need, right now, and He will get your attention whatever it takes.

Gari uses Scripture verses, humor, story-telling, and the straight up truth about her own experiences to get you to understand the concept of watershed moments, how to handle them, and even how to appreciate them and rely on them in the future. I think they can be wonderful and even personal examples of the impact God has in each of our lives, whether we realize it at the time or not. And I personally love this quote, from the very end of the book:

Watershed moments are like fireflies – a burst of understanding, a flash of surrender, a flicker of hope.

I would recommend this book to my family, friends and readers! I would even consider using it for small group or my church's Ladies Group to read and discuss.

For more information or to pick up a copy of
Watershed Moments
by Gari Meacham, it is available on Amazon in paperback and kindle format.

Don't have a Kindle? Grab one for yourself. They are so nice to use for reading. I love my Kindle Fire and my little one uses the e-Reader version (just for reading without the added games and internet options).

What events or turning points were watershed moments in your life?
