5 Minute Chili

December 11, 2012 SimplySherryl 14 Comments

5 Minute Chili

Five Minute Chili

For that last minute need a meal on the table night… this is one of my most often used winter meals.

Ingredients:

1 package meat (I always have 1 pound packages of browned, seasoned ground beef in freezer)

5 cans* of different whatever type beans you have (I keep stocked in black, red, chili, black-eye and white)

1 can or jar of spaghetti  sauce

1 package chili season (or mix teaspoon of garlic powder, pepper, salt, cumin, chili powder)

Directions:

Open and dump everything into a large pot. (may have to thaw meat in microwave for 60 seconds to break it up) – add one cup of HOT water and heat on medium heat until ready to eat.

Serves 6-8 large bowls.  Add some bread and butter or a salad to the table and you are ready!

  • We use 5 cans only because that is how many cans it takes to feed us. I have found one can of beans per adult works out just about right without leftovers.

It really doesn’t get much simpler than this! Not a big fan of chili, but John could make this for himself when he is on the road working.
