A Table by the Window {Review}
Finally, a Christian romance novel that also centers around food and cooking! I loved A Table by the Window by Hillary Manton Lodge not only because I enjoyed the story itself but it also combines several of my favorite things!
Heirloom recipes, family secrets…and a chance for love
The youngest heir to a French-Italian restaurant dynasty, food writer Juliette D’Alisa has spent her life negotiating her skill with words and her restaurant aspirations. When her brother Nico offers her a chance to open a restaurant together, she feels torn—does she really have what it takes? Should she risk leaving her journalism career?After the death of her grandmother, Juliette discovers an antique photograph of a man who looks strikingly like her brother. As the truth behind the picture reveals romance and dark secrets, Juliette struggles to keep the mystery away from her nosy family until she can uncover the whole story.
Inspired by her grandmother’s evolving story, Juliette resolves to explore the world of online dating. To her surprise, she finds a kindred spirit in Neil McLaren, a handsome immunologist based in Memphis, Tennessee. With a long-distance relationship simmering, Juliette faces life-shifting decisions. How can she possibly choose between a promising culinary life and Neil, a man a world away in more ways than one? And is it possible her Grandmother’s story can help show the way?
This is a tale of decisions. Does Juliette choose the restaurant and family business, or does she continue with her writing career? Does she choose to stay put in her current surroundings, or does she move several time zones away to follow her heart?
Who hasn’t faced these kinds of decisions?
And it gets better, for you book lovers who also love the kitchen…a recipe at the end of every chapter! I couldn’t wait to read the next page, and I inhaled the recipes just as quickly.
This book touched my heart as I was swept along with the characters and their emotions. Hillary Manton Lodge wrote a wonderful tale and I enjoyed the descriptions of the people, and the places they visited as much as the plot itself. I hope there are more books like this to come in the future!

Combines two of several of my favorite topics, food/cooking and a good Christian book! It was very good and I personally sped right through it and got some wonderful recipes to try from it too. I’d love to read more like A Table by the Window if I can find them.
