Advent Calendar Wall Decal
Are you ready for the countdown to Christmas? Do you use anything special to mark off the days? Over the years we have used paper chains, fortune cookies, little popup calendars and other methods to help the children keep up with how many more days until Christmas.
Recently we were received a Christmas Tree Wall Decal Advent Calendar from Signs.com to use and review. The wall decal is made out of “repositionable” material which means that it can put it on any wall and reuse it from year to year.
Our little guy was excited to have his “own tree” when we put up the Advent Calendar. He helped clean the sliding glass door first and then waited patiently (as much as a four year old can) as I peeled off the tree so I could hang it.
While the tree is really cute, and the idea of this is great; the execution was a challenge. Because the tree decal is so large (it’s all one piece), it was impossible to keep it from rolling up and sticking back on itself. Mom needed an extra set of hands beyond the helpfulness of a four year old!
Once we conquered the installation the first time, we tried to move it to another location to test the “repositionable” claim. Let’s just say that I would think about where you wanted to place the calendar before you started placing it on a wall. The adhesive is quite strong which is good and bad. Good so that the little ones don’t pull it down and take off with it but bad because it is a challenge to move it around. I think that being able to use it year after year you will need the stronger adhesive, but for the first time make sure Dad or someone over four is there to “help you” with the installation!
Since it was mounted, the little man has enjoyed decorating his tree with the colored ornaments (done in shapes with numbers) himself.
All in all, it’s a neat idea and very pretty on the door. I would have appreciated a more friendly installation or at least include directions for those of us that are decal challenged. I think the little ones will love having their own tree although the whole countdown process seemed to be lost on our little one. You might want to bring out one ornament a day for your little one to place of the tree as you countdown the days.

The kids are getting old enough now, so I want to start doing an Advent calendar like I had when I was a child. Thanks for the review. I’ll go check their website now.
