New iPhones and Batterygate Help Apple Beat Samsung
Apple and Samsung or Samsung and Apple. They seem to go back and for in a tight race each year for top honors. I think the battery issue with the Note units really hit Samsung hard. That and the issue with washing machines…sure made it hard to not look at other brands.
According to a news release by IDC, Apple once again claimed the top spot thanks largely to the success of the new iPhone 7 and 7 Plus.
Samsung dropped to second place with a 5.2% decline in the worldwide smartphone market.
Holding on to their number three position is Huawei. According to the report, this is the first time the brand broke double-digit share with over 10.6% of the total sales volume.
Even with over 100% growth over previous year, OPPO brings up fourth place in ranking.
And lastly, vivo held on to the fifth position largely due to a great holiday season.

Are you a die hard user of Apple or Samsung? I am Team Samsung but several of my crew are on Team Apple. Personally I wish they would learn to play nice together because there are programs and apps on each that I enjoy using. But until then…
