Book Review: Princess Sophia and the Frog
As with most fairy tales… There once was a little princess…
What a sweet little fairy tale about friendship, happiness and being content. Princess Sophia is a young princess who lives in a big castle with everything she could ever need. However, she becomes sad and bored and dreams of flying to the moon.
Of course, as in every princess fairy tale, a little frog comes by one day and convinces her that if she will only kiss him they would be able to dance and fly up to the sky. And so she does…
As they visit the different planets and meet the stars that live there, the princess learns about feelings and how by being careful with the type of mood (personality) we have around us, we can help to control our own moods and feelings. She quickly learns that all she needs to be happy is to be back at home and surrounded by her good friends.
I would recommend this book for a little girl to read for character education. It is an easy read and can be completed in just a couple of minutes. There are several topics that this book could be a good spring board to get the conversation started.
