Branson IMAX Entertainment Complex
Staying busy goes along with being in Branson since there are so many things to see and places to go. And if you are like me, I need a little time during my vacation to enjoy something that doesn’t tax my physical limits. The IMAX Entertainment Complex is one of those places for me. They have a little bit of everything and THE largest IMAX screen!
About IMAX
Designed from the ground up for IMAX’s largest screens, the dual 4K laser projection systems are equipped with a new optical engine and suite of proprietary IMAX technologies capable of projecting an image that fills the entire IMAX screen with maximum resolution and sharpness, unparalleled brightness.
Whites are whiter and blacks are blacker, noticeably sharper to the naked eye. The system at the Branson IMAX also includes IMAX’s next-generation, 12 channel sound technology that delivers even greater power and precision. IMAX with Laser delivers audiences unprecedented levels of brightness, contrast, color and sound.
As you enter the lobby of the Branson IMAX Entertainment Complex you are immediately surrounded by sights, sounds, and scents that have you looking around for the sources.
Looking for a Meal
If you are hungry, head over to enjoy a meal of Ozark’s best dishes.
MCFARLAIN’S FAMILY RESTAURANT
Family Dining for everyone. The MCFARLAIN’S FAMILY RESTAURANT is a Branson Missouri one of a kind location. Located inside the Branson IMAX Entertainment Complex, this full-service restaurant is famous for legendary Ozarks menu items.
Enjoy Specialty Shopping Stores?
If shopping grabs your attention, there are several specialty stores that I could spend hours wandering through looking for unique trinkets.
I enjoy window shopping (and adding a few things to my shopping basket) when on vacation. And if I happen to be without a group of littles, I can really enjoy myself shopping!

I love old clocks. My entryway at home has a large grandfather clock that brings back so many memories of growing up hearing it mark time. It was a real treat to spend time in the Clock Shop in Branson. This store has clocks of all shapes and sizes. Clocks by Howard Miller, Seiko, Bulova and Ridgeway are just some of the designs on display.
Remembering the Past
I love the decorations marking the history of the area. Everywhere you visit has something honoring those that served in the military.
As you make your way down the stairs, photographs and drawings are hung along both sides of the stairwell..this is the Hall of Heroes. It is really impressive.
While wandering around the Entertainment Complex, make sure to stop by the ticket kisosk and pick up discount tickets to other attractions. You can save time by having your tickets in hand especially at the shows that have set times.
IMAX Theater
The IMAX Theater is the place to see the latest blockbuster movie while in Branson. This is one stop that you do need to watch your time as showtimes do not wait for anyone. You might want to grab your show tickets before wandering through the stores.
Before entering the theater, grab a bag of fresh popcorn (this is what you have been smelling since entering the entertainment complex), and a beverage or candy.
Be prepared to be impressed as you enter the IMAX theater.
Seriously, this is the largest movie screen you will ever see! There really isn’t a band seat in the house, however some of the seats are part of their VIP seating and you will be assisted to your chosen seats
After you find your seats, sit down get comfortable.
With just a press on the button located on your arm rest, your feet are elevated and the back of your seat will recline. You will find yourself in the perfect position to watch the movie that’s about to start.
Just don’t get too comfortable!
Rebekah really didn’t fall asleep, she was just demonstrating how she expected to find me at the end of the movie.
I do have to admit that I did struggle a little bit at the beginning when the lights were turned down and it got quiet. But once the show started, I was actually really into it!
Of course watching the movie SHAZAM! really helped keep me awake. I think had it been another movie she may have won that bet since the seats were so comfortable.
Just look at how comfortable I was before the movie came on the IMAX screen. Normally when we are on vacation, we have a packed schedule so finding a place that has comfortable seating, the air conditioning was running; I probably have been known to nod off before but not today!
The IMAX theater is truly something that you do not want to miss while you are visiting Branson.
The Branson IMAX Entertainment Complex is so much more than a movie house. It really is a full service entertainment center for the entire family.
