Claessens’ Kids Kid’Sleep Moon {Review}
As most parents know, sleep training can be a stressful time, especially for your first child. When I was a new mom, I would have loved any product that could help both me and my child with our routine and adjusting to sleep/wake times! That makes the Claessen’sKids Kid’Sleep Moon a great product for parents with young children.
- The Kid’Sleep moon helps kids stay in bed until it is time to get up
- The Kid’Sleep moon offers the smart sunset “go to sleep” function and the smart moonset “wake up process”, which gives kids a 10 minute warning for sleep time and get up time
- The Kid’Sleep moon has 3 settings for nighttime, nap and weekend, 4 choices of alarm sounds (or the choice of no alarm), and 4 levels of brightness to choose from
- The Kid’Sleep moon helps children fall asleep with 4 different choices of lullabies
- Color recognition is not required
Since young kids are still learning their numbers and the concept of time, putting a standard alarm clock in their room isn’t going to work, right? But kids know what pictures mean at a very early age, and that’s the idea that this “clock” operates on. On the face plate is a split picture: rabbit in bed and rabbit up playing. Your child can associate if the rabbit is up, then he or she can get up as well!
You can set 3 “alarms” on your clock, one for weekday mornings, one for naptime and one for weekend mornings. And you have the choice between a traditional alarm type sound or several sounds like birds chirping or a train, etc. This clock also functions as a nightlight which is great even when they get older and can use it more as a clock than judging by the pictures.
This worked great for us, even with our child being a little older, because he wants to be more independent and has a habit of sneaking into the living room before Mom & Dad get up. Now he knows that even if he wakes up before his alarm goes off (or the bunny gets out of bed) that he has to stay in his room. There’s no more arguing over what time it is or if it’s too early because he already knows by looking at the Kid’Sleep Moon.
It does plug into the wall or you can use battery power, especially helpful for when the power goes out!
I liked the fact that so many of the features can be set by the parents. You can choose how bright the lights are, the sounds for the alarm and lullaby, weekday vs weekend wake up times, etc. I love options and that makes it a more valuable product to me as a parent. Once I unpacked it from the box, I had it operational within 5 minutes. There were a few tweaks as we started using it, but very minor.
I’d recommend this product for new parents or any parent that is struggling to teach wake up vs sleep time to their child. Like I said, our child is a little older than this is probably intended for but he loves using it.
