ClickBlock Magnetic Building Toys {Review}
Having several little ones that love to build things, I’m always on the lookout for building materials such as blocks, plastic bricks, magnets and more. While they aren’t all being homeschooled, finding toys that are also educational makes this grandma happy. Luckily, the ClickBlock magnetic building toys are just that!
The ClickBlock was created by Bong-Seok Yoon who has 29 years of experience in magnetic toy research, design and manufacturing. His creative inspirations of ClickBlock came from his then 5 years old daughter, Dami. Being his only child then he wanted to create toys for her that are educational and fun to play by herself. After 3 years of grueling development Bong-Suk completed his masterful world first 3D and interlocking 2D magnetic toys for Dami (now 8 years old) and magnetic bars and balls(called “X-Bar”) for Dami’s little baby sister Daon.
There are a number of sets from this company, so there are a wide variety of options depending on what you need for your kids. Whether they enjoy the freedom of building from their imagination, or they are really into space, trains, or buildings, you’ll find a set (or three) just for them.
I like that while there are many pieces in the set we received, they weren’t tiny. If they fell off the table, they were bright and large to be able to spot quickly and pick up before they were stepped on. Plus, since they are magnets, it gave the kids a lot more freedom to build and play with angles since they didn’t have to “fit” together just right.
I have the X-Bar Premium Magnetic Construction Toy-100 Piece City Scape Set for the grandkids. Here are the contents of our set:
- 100 Pieces Total: 48 bars, 16 curved bars, 36 metal balls
- Perfect magnetic building toy to develop Creativity, Imagination, Mathematical, and Scientific Thinking.
- Build simple to complex structures.
- High Resistance PC Plastic which will Not break or crack; PA-FREE plastic comes in 6 bright colors.
- Patented cogwheel structure (U.S. patent pending) allowing stronger binding strength compared to other leading competitors’ products.
In case the kids need ideas to get started, the kit comes with a builder’s guide that shows a finished product and also tells them how many of each piece they will need to complete it. Now, there are no other instructions, and it may take a few attempts to get it just right. And that’s OK!
One of my grandsons participates in a local STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and music) club and he was fascinated with the ClickBlock building set! He built everything from towers and swords to a crown and jewelry for his mom.
Be sure to keep an eye out for their new products, including a robot set and wooden blocks coming early next year!
