We were invited to a media preview night before they officially opened to the starving public. First, we all gathered outside to watch the ribbon cutting ceremony and meet several local chefs that work at Cucinova, as well as some of the company’s officers. It was wonderful how several employees were introduced, you could tell they didn’t know about it ahead of time.
After taking in the surroundings, we got in line and immediately started debating what all we wanted to try. The CEO, J. David Karam, had instructed everyone to try a little of everything, so we did! First you come up to the pizza work station. The options are endless, since every 10″ pizza has over 25 ingredients to choose from, depending on what kind of sauce, cheese, meat and veggies you prefer. It took longer for us to decide on our toppings than the 3 minutes it took to be baked in the oven! And the crust was so soft, with just a little bit of the dark bubbled edges (which would have been delicious all by itself). We finally decided on the red sauce, mozzarella cheese, tomatoes, mushrooms, bacon and sausage.
Up next? The place to go if you want your own unique pasta dish. Pick your pasta, sauce, meat and any other toppings! I got the Spaghettini with the Pomodoro sauce and the dark meat Tuscan chicken with Parmesan cheese. You can even mix and match with sauces and toppings to make it just what you want. Yum!
Finally comes the salad station. Just like the pizza and pasta locations, you select your choice of greens, toppings, protein and dressing (can’t have a naked salad their menu says). The variety of toppings range from fresh and chopped to roasted in the oven, plus cheeses and peppers to make it spicy.
We had a wonderful evening, enjoying the delicious food and laid back, contemporary feel to Cucinova. And it really is a great deal; pizza, pasta or salad are only $6.99; and they are made to order! You can order online for pickup, even do a group order by sharing a link! I know we’ll definitely be back for more and we’ll bring our friends to introduce them to this great addition to Cincinnati.

The food is great and reasonably priced. They need one of these downtown.
