DFLifestyle USB Car Charger {Review}
If your household is like mine, just about everything that the kids like to use..runs off a USB charger. Add to the fact that we are always on the go, someone is usually looking for a place to charge one or more of their devices. Who has time to wait for a charge on a device that someone forgot to plug in when they went to bed? Yep.. I have been guilty of this myself. This is when I appreciate companies like DFLifestyle’s for creating USB car chargers.
Car charger are pretty much car chargers. They all work basically the same. Surprisingly the cost of them are not as consistent. We have tried both ends of the price market and find that paying more doesn’t always mean better quality – at least not for the basic function.
The DFLifestyle’s device has two USB ports, one at 1A and the other at 2.1A. Although each port will supply different amperage, you can plug in any device to either port. If your device requires more than 1A, it will still charge but will take longer. If you use the 2.1A port, it will still safely charge your devices that only require 1A and will not over charge them. I use the 2.1A for the larger and newer devices and the 1A mainly as an extra port or when a second unit needs to be charging at the same time.
The first thing I noticed was that this unit stays put when plugged in. It doesn’t pop out as some other brands have done. More importantly, it doesn’t get screaming hot after just a few minutes! We tested it with two devices charging for 30 minutes and the unit was warm, which would be expected; but not hot to the touch. This test would cover the upper end on time that a device would be charging in my vehicle.
This is a well built product. And at this price point, there is no reason to not have one in every vehicle.
