Dive Deeper {Review}

Do you D.I.V.E. into your Bible? You should! I was given the opportunity to read a new book titled Dive Deeper: Finding Deep Faith Beyond Shallow Religion by Jenifer Jernigan. She teaches readers to dive (define, investigate, visualize, and embrace) into the Word of God.

This book focuses on the book of Ephesians:

It was written to encourage believers to walk as fruitful followers of Christ and to serve in unity and love in the midst of persecution.

I love that Dive Deeper encourages us to go beyond what we know; we all know verses and stories, anyone regularly attending services would know them. But do we really understand them? Could we explain why things are that way? I know I couldn’t. But using the tools that Jenifer gives for beginners and the advanced alike, you can becoming closer to God with each and every study and prayer.

You don’t just read this book, chapter by chapter, and move on. There are questions to answers, Scripture to look up and study, journal entries to make if you’re inclined. This is a great book for someone just starting out with Bible study OR someone who’s scared and feels disconnected with the Word. While I think this would work well as a small group study, I would probably want to do it alone first, then come together and study/learn with the ladies in my group.
