DIY Easter Baskets in a Jar

DIY Easter Baskets in a Jar

Looking for easy and cute Easter gifts to give out? Maybe to the kid's teachers or to take with you when you visit out of town relatives? These DIY Easter Baskets in a Jar are perfect! You can use any kind of candy you want and you can make them ahead of time!

DIY Easter Baskets in a Jar

Ingredients:

  • Easter M&Ms
  • Spring colored Jelly beans
  • Assortment of spring/Easter colored candy (total 2-3 pounds)
  • Mason jars, with lids and screw-on bands
  • 6 Peeps per jar (if using 16 oz Mason jars, smaller jars require fewer Peeps)

Instructions:

  • Gather all supplies
  • Wash and dry jars (must be completely dry)
  • Start layering candy in each jar about half way
  • Insert Peeps into each jar making sure to face them outward and pushed against the side of the jar
  • Continuing layering the candy until the jar is full – press down gently to make sure it is completely full
  • Place seal and ring on top of each jar and close until ring is snug
  • If not using the jars as gifts right away, store in a cool, dry place for a couple of weeks

Optional decorations:
4 each 6- x 6-inch squares of colorful fabric – place over the seal and under the ring

Beautiful jars!! I made some for my kids, I printed cute quotes for them and I put it on the inside of the cover. You can easily find free svg files online and print those. You have any ideas for fathers day?

I love this idea! I always disliked all the Easter grass, and this works out better so you’re not overloading your kid with candy trying to make sure you get enough in the basket.

That is a good idea for bringing treats to school. Especially if you have too many jars sitting around the house.

These are so cute! I love that you can use any candy your family might prefer, plus you can make it last longer (hopefully) by keeping it stored in an airtight container!

Knowing my family though, it’ll still be gone quickly.
