The first time I started monitoring my ketones at home was when I was following a low carb diet. There was a certain range you wanted to reach to burn stored fat as efficiently as possible but without getting into dangerous levels.
Since then, I’ve also had to test for nitrites for infections and proteins. These testing strips are great to keep in the bathroom since they test for so many things. Of course, it doesn’t replace going to the doctor, but they are terrific to help your self monitoring at home.
I would suggest keeping a bottle of these for yourself, and they would also come in handy for any loved ones who may need closer monitoring at home. They also provide you with privacy since you take the test at home and then you can decide if you need to take any further action.
