Eggnog Hot Chocolate

Eggnog Hot Chocolate

Eggnog Hot Chocolate

I will admit that I am not a big fan of Eggnog, this is great hot beverage when combined with Hot Chocolate. Of course, what isn't better with chocolate?

Ingredients:
1/3 cup cocoa powder
1/3 cup white sugar (or Splenda)
1/3 cup water
2.5 cups eggnog (store bought or homemade)
1.5 cups milk

Directions:
Bring water to a low boil
Stir in cocoa powder and sugar until dissolved
Reduce heat to simmer and add the eggnog and milk
Heat for a few minutes or until desired temperature

Optional: Top with whipped cream and/or a sprinkle of nutmeg

Serves about 4-6 depending on the mug size

Check out our other recipes for using Eggnog:

Eggnog Bread Pudding

You can also make this with instant hot chocolate mix and eggnog. Simply use equal portions of the hot chocolate beverage and eggnog.

I’ve never tried eggnog because I just feel like I wouldn’t like it… which is stupid, I know. Mixed in with the chocolate makes it look so much more appetizing, though! I may just give this recipe a try this Christmas. 🙂

I rarely drink eggnog since it’s too rich tasting to me. Sometimes the lite version is fine. I love hot chocolate so this may just be the right recipe for me to try.

That’s different. I would try it. Eggnog is kind of expensive and fattening. I figure, it’s only for sale once a year so why not indulge!
