Family Arches Happy Meal Books
Starting back on November 1st McDonald’s started offering books instead of toys in their Happy Meals. They partnered with Reading Is Fundamental (RIF) to offer 20 million books inside McDonald’s Happy Meals and also giving away 100,000 copies to families with little access to books.
We love to read at our house and I absolutely love this idea! My little ones always have books with them and love to have them read over and over. From a Mom’s view, I prefer the books to toys and am excited that my little ones seem to look forward to a new book at each visit.
The fun and learning doesn’t stop there. You will want to download the McPlay App and get a new e-book every month for you and your children to read. This is a wonderful program that McDonald’s and RIF have started. Have you visited McDonald’s and picked up your Happy Meal book yet?
The books offered are-
* The Goat Who Ate Everything
* Deana’s Big Dream
* Ant Cant
* Doddi The Dodo Goes To Orlando
As a member of the Family Arches blogger program, I received an awesome Family Reading Pack to share our love for McDonald’s and reading with my kids. This reading pack included a cool book light, a McDonald’s blanket, the 4 books listed above and a $10 McDonald’s gift card.
Happy Meals are a treat for my crew. Even my teens enjoy them! It touches my heart to see the older crew reading to the little ones. I have to admit that these books are getting more attention and lasting longer than I expected. The favorite is by far The Goat who Ate Everything! See the book? It has a bite taken out of it! My little ones think this is just too funny!
So the next time you visit McDonald’s, allow time to read your Happy Meal book. What a great way to spend time with your little ones while having something to discuss. Listening to them ask questions and laugh over the books just brings a smile to my heart.
