Does your house often look like a storage center for empty cardboard boxes? There are days, especially around birthdays and holidays that we have a trash can full of smashed boxes… but not any more!

Amazon and Goodwill are partnering up to take those empty boxes off your hands..and help others at the same time. The campaign is called Give Back Box.

Their mission statement is:

Here’s how it works. Order something from Amazon (go ahead and complete your order while I wait).. done? Great.

Now when your package arrives, hopefully in two days because you have a Prime Membership that saves you so much money during the year on shipping not to mention the extras goodies like prime music and movie streaming.

Okay so now you have your package and the empty box. NO – DO NOT crush it! Instead look around and see what items you can donate to the Goodwill and fill that box up. I keep a box in the garage and toss things in it all the time. When it is full, off it goes to the car to be dropped at Goodwill on my next errand day.

Give Back Box® provides vendor services to retailers and charities, allowing each and every cardboard box a second life to help people in need. So it is also a ‘green’ solution! Reuse your online shipping boxes in which you received your purchases, or any other cardboard box you may have, to donate your unwanted household items: such as gently used clothing, shoes etc., to make a major difference in the life of another person.

Amazon will pick up the box from your house and take your donation to the Goodwill Agency near you. You will receive a receipt for your tax donation from the Goodwill.
