Gobble Gobble it's that time again when our family gathers almost every weekend with one side of the family or the other for a meal. Sometimes you do gobble till ya wobble! This year we are trying to make the holidays less stressful by simplifying our menus.     Unfortunately for me, I do not have a favorite slow cooker recipe, YET, because, despite the fact I am over 50, I have NEVER had a slow cooker in my adult life! However, I have been REALLY wanting one for over a year now and whatever my favorite recipe turns out to be, it will be a low carb/ keto one.

    I like making my own goulash , I usually have all sorts of left over vegetables, often I add chicken broth, chopped up chicken or turkey and even hot dogs, water, onions and celery, This time of year is really great to put this meal on, and it feeds many, add some biscuits and butter, yum!

    I like throwing some potatoes, carrots and onion in the bottom of the slow-cooker, topping them with a pork roast and some seasoning, and just letting them cook

    I like making roasts in my slow-cooker, too. You just put in the veggies, top it with the roast and any liquids you want and let it cook.

    One of my favorite slow cooker recipes is my Grandma’s apples and spices. They cook for hours and then are used between layers of apple stack cake. The smell alone reminds me of the holidays.

    I love making macaroni & cheese in the crockpot. It takes 2-3 hours but it tastes so good. Sometimes I even make meatloaf in it.
