Easy Setup on GoCentral Website Builder
Setting up a new website is almost a no brainer with the GoDaddy™ GoCentral Website Builder. From sign up to published in less than an hour.
As an owner of several websites, I understand how stressful and complicated it can be in starting an online business. Just picking a name can take what seems like forever. Once you have your name picked out and the social media platforms to match, the next step is to set up an online presence. GoDaddy™ has been in the business of offering assistance in both domain names (what your site is called) and web hosting packages (where your site is located). Now they are offering a solution to another problem; building your website.
GoCentral Website Builder is like nothing I have ever used. Props to the creators of this software package!
Here’s how it works:
Setup is simple, and for a limited time (through April 10th) it is also free for the first month*.
Depending on your level of need, GoDaddy™ offers four different platforms of service. Prices range from $5.99 for a basic website to $29.99 for an online store which includes the e-store setup that is needed to sell both physical and digit products online.
Setup is as simple as using your Facebook login or by completing the information with your email, username and password. You will also need to select a four digit numeric pin ID number that you will use if you ever need to call the customer service center. This ID number can also be used should you need to allow someone else to have access to your account. If you already have a GoDaddy™ account, you can simply sign in with the same login credentials.
Once you have set up your account, you will be asked to provide a little information about the name and type of site you would like to create. Fill in box boxes. The information you provide on the topic (are you a baker, dress maker or real estate office) and the name you plan on using; will allow the system to search for appropriate images and templates that you will be able to use on your site.
Take a couple of minutes and look at the different templates and layouts. If you don’t see anything that jumps out to capture your attention, you can go back and change the search words for a fresh list of templates to review.
After you select the template you like, your company name (also called the header section) will show on the preview screen. I like that the platform shows both a desktop/tablet and a mobile view of what your site will look like to your readers.
And now the fun begins! Start clicking on the sections along the right side of the screen. Each will open an area that you can enter information about your business. As you fill in each section, your preview pane will update automatically.
It’s easy to edit each area of your site by clicking on the title and making any changes. Adding photos and content to your site is easy and fun!
One of the awesome features built into the GoCentral Website Builder is the email subscriber section. Offering the option for your readers to sign up to receive notifications is important. Normally this is something that you have to add on to your site, often at an additional cost.
Subscribers emails can be used to send newsletters or promotions of your products available or sales campaigns. Most email marketing specialists will tell you that growing your email address is one of the high priority items that should be on your list in order to grow your site over the long term.
Once you have completed the right side of the screen, move over to the left side and go through each of the areas as you did on the right side, completing the customizing of your site.
Promoting your content and being ranked by Google usually requires editing the code (basic language that your site using to communicate over the internet) and inserting a string of code provided by Google. You can sign up for this tracking number at Google.
The tracking information once installed will also allow you to monitor what pages and articles your readers visit. This is a great tool to learn what your readers find most interesting on your site.
Social Media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest can be added easily in the social accounts area. These clickable links will allow your readers to share your articles with their friends. Social platforms on your site make sharing your content easy and easy works to your advantage when it comes to getting your readers to help promote your site.
Whether you are selling products online or have a brick and mortar location, providing a way for your readers to reach you is important. I like that the platform includes a map and contact information as part of the basic setup. This is another area that normally requires an additional add on or custom work at an additional cost.
Now that you have edited the main area of your new site, publishing it is as simple as pressing a button. The entire process I have just walked you through took me less than thirty (30) minutes. I admit that I am impressed with this platform for the ease of use. Get a free trial* of the GoCentral Website Builder to have your site up and running in minutes!
