Traditionally when my family travels, there are a few chain hotels that we will look for first if we need lodging. One of those happens to be the Hampton Inn & Suites! On our last trip to Florida, we stopped just outside of Birmingham, Alabama, at the Hampton Inn & Suites Birmingham-Pelham just off of I-65. I’d definitely stay there again.
Hampton Inn & Suites Birmingham-Pelham (I-65) is a suburban retreat near Interstate 65, just minutes from Oak Mountain State Park and Birmingham, Alabama. Rent a canoe or paddleboat, hike, bike or mountain bike at Alabama’s largest state park. Reserve a tee time at one of the courses on the famed Robert Trent Jones Trail or learn about U.S. history and civics at American Village. Take a short drive to the Birmingham Zoo and Botanical Gardens, just ten miles away or browse the shops at the Riverchase Galleria or the Summit. Our hotel is an ideal home base for the Magic City Classic or UAB football games.
Enjoy the convenient location and comfy accommodations at our Pelham hotel. Reserve a king bed study with an additional sofa bed or a guest room with two queen-sized beds. If you’re traveling with family or prefer extra space, choose a studio suite with a whirlpool tub. Stay connected with free high-speed internet access or finish a presentation for tomorrow’s meeting at a large work desk or convenient lap desk. Enjoy a swim in our outdoor pool or re-energize in our fitness center. Get some rest in a clean and fresh Hampton bed® and wake up refreshed to Hampton’s free hot breakfast.
This location has 3 stories and 85 guest rooms, so it’s large but not overwhelming. Yes, it has a pool but it was outside and it wasn’t really warm enough just yet for a swim.
They offer several different types of rooms, include standard rooms, handicap accessible and suites, depending on your needs. The rooms also include TVs, a work desk, coffee maker, and high speed internet! So whether you’re in town for business or family travel, you can relax or work quite comfortably while keeping your electronics online.
We enjoyed their free hot breakfast the morning before we checked out. They had the standard items like muffins, bread for toast, and cereal, as well as eggs, sausage, oatmeal and a range of juices and coffee choices. And you can’t forget the kids favorite, the waffle maker! Plus they had a fruit salad and other pieces of fresh fruit too, which is a great healthy option.
The lobby is a great meeting place with several TVs, plenty of chairs and tables, plus a nice fireplace to relax besides. We noticed several students that were studying and a few families enjoying a TV show before bedtime.
The entire building appeared to be clean and well kept. The staff was friendly and the room was very peaceful. I could definitely seeing my crew stopping here again the next time we’re coming through town.
This trip our youngest crew member wanted to contribute more than being the “Official Taste Tester” so we gave him a camera. Things sure look different through the eyes of a 6 year old!
That’s good to know. We’ll make sure to stop by on our next trip.
