Homemade Aloe Vera Moisturizer
Aloe Vera has long been known around here for the product to reach for when you are sun burned. Keeping the skin moist helps with the pain as well as the healing without peeling. We have found that adding a few items to our Aloe Vera Gel turns it into a wonderful moisturizer that can be used as a toner on your face.
This mixture (short of the witch hazel) also comforts a sun burn, will calm angry areas from a rash or scratch, and it helps to calm my eczema areas when they are being difficult.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup purified water
3 drops rose essential oil
3 drops rosemary essential oil
3 drops chamomile essential oil
3 tablespoons aloe vera gel
1/8 cup witch hazel
Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a jar and stir until well mixed.
Use as needed with a cotton ball or pour in to a spray bottle.
Make sure to shake it before using as it will settle and separate.
Apply on face and let it absorb. It works great as a toner and will not interfere with your morning facial routine.
Consider doubling or tripling this recipe and use as gifts for someone. Place a bottle of this Homemade Aloe Vera Moisturizer in a basket with a nice hand towel as a gift.

What a great recipe. Thanks for sharing. Now I have something to do with my Aloe plant. When I first got it, it was a tiny plant I kept on my windowsill. Now it is in a huge pot that are mostly used for trees. It is so big I can’t even move it, it’s just way too heavy.

I really love this recipe. My mom used to keep an Aloe Vera plant on the kitchen window sill for small burns. I tried a few times, however, I do not have a green thumb, your recipe is perfect for me. 🙂

What I lovely idea! Thanks for sharing. It’s very nice to know of additional uses for ALOE VERA. We have two large plants in our kitchen (I consider them an essential for everyday cuts and burns. It would be great to have a nice “neutral” (safe to use with other cosmetic products) face/skin toner.
I think I would make some of each: one with and the other without witch hazel. I also other the fragrances and natural healing properties of the essential oils. Thanks!

Aloe Vera is amazing. It truly works wonders. I remember when I was sick several years ago with Hand, Foot, & Mouth Disease and drinking Aloe Vera juice was literally the only thing that helped me. I also love the plant itself. I’m sure it would be a great moisturizer. Thanks for sharing.
